Help with Fees
Funding may be available for childcare from the following sources
Child Care is an expensive subject but there is help out there to aid you with paying the fees such as
-
Torfaen Education Department
As a Registered Educational Provider for Torfaen, the Nursery can claim funding on your behalf for every 3 - 4 year old attending at least 4 sessions per week. The Nursery claims this funding for you via Torfaen CBC which is then deducted from your monthly fees when it arrives, which usually takes about 4 - 8 weeks from beginning of each term. The current funding stands at £383 per term.
-
Working Families Tax Credits
Another avenue for help with Child Care fees is the Working Families Tax Credit who will, depending on Income, pay up to 70% of the price of Child Care. Contact Working families Tax Credit on - 0845 609 5000
If you are thinking of returning to College or University, depending on circumstances, they will help pay your child care fees in term time. Speak to your local student support services for information.
The Employment Service Job Centre will discuss child care funding in order to undertake certain re training, education or work experience. This is also dependant on circumstances and sometimes postcode so speak to the local job centre or loan parent advisor for more details.
The scheme works by the employer deducting an amount from your pay before tax and paying it to a Nursery Voucher Scheme who then pay direct to the Nursery. The advantages are you keep the tax you would have paid on the amount, in effect the Nursery fees become a tax free allowance. Upper limits apply and your employer should be contacted for more information.
