Pat Testing
Portable Appliance Testing
Usually referred to as Pat Testing, is a process by which electrical appliances in an organisation, building, shop, house and caravan (rented or leased ) are checked to see if they are safe. Pat testing is a very important part of any Health and Safety Policy.
Every year in the UK approximately 30 people are killed as a result of coming into contact with electricity, hundreds more are seriously injured. The Health and Safety Executive states that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involves portable appliances - kettles, heaters, fridges, toasters, fax machines and computer in other words the equipment and appliances we use every day.
There are many good reasons to carry our Pat Testing:
-
Compliance with the very latest Health and Safety regulations
-
Risk of Fire and injury from portable appliances minimised
-
Compliance with Site Regulation, ISO 9001 AND BS5750
-
Satisfy the requirements of your insurance company policy
The most compelling reason to have your equipment checked is to consider the likely consequence if you do not have your testing done and one of your staff or guest are killed or injured.
