Workshop
Sketching a design to suit the client
A series of sketches are made based on the clients requirements, showing the front and back of the garment.
Making the pattern
Once the client has been measured, the pattern is drafted on to a thin card
which is then cut out.
Marking the pattern on the mull
The pattern is then marked out on the mull fabric. The mull is the name given to a cheap throwaway fabric, which is later discarded. It is then cut out and stitched together.
First fitting
At the first fitting the mull garment is tried on the client - this is when any alterations to the pattern or fit are made.
Marking out the clients fabric
Shows the pattern being marked by tailors chalk on to the clients fabric, which is then cut out ready to be sewn.
