Team Building
A team building experience
Team-building experiences are important for the group skills, communication and bonding that result from them. The activity which enhances these is merely the means to the end and therefore needs to be enjoyable to all participants so that it becomes the catalyst to learning and not the focus for complaint.
Essentially, however, team-building experiences must be capable of being related to the work situation so that they empower individuals to recognise and then contribute to team’s ultimate goals.
When you take your team out of the office you help the group to break down political and personal barriers, eliminate distractions, get them out of their comfort (or discomfort) zone and have fun together. This gives the opportunity to the facilitator to release:
-
Hidden potential of individuals and the group to improve productivity and motivation
-
Hidden talents which have either been missed or not performed at their best
-
Effective communication through structured activities leading to a common cause
-
A desire to operate and learn as a team, in a co-operative work environment
Experience the activity – Learn from your action – Act as a team
‘A team that has fun together does the business’
