Energy Check was the trading name of J C Beachey, started in 1995 to coincide with SAP Energy Rating being introduced into the Building Regulations.

 

The business now trades as Energy Check Limited, specialising in solutions to Part L1 (A & B) of the Building Regulations (England and Wales)

  

At last, the energy efficiency of a new dwelling will determine (in part) its value. Image of energy certificate


Prospective home-owners will consider the energy performance in much the same way as when buying domestic appliances.


It will pay building designers and builders to create (cost effectively), energy efficient homes.


From 2007, the energy performance certificate of the Home Information Pack, for sale of existing homes, will be compulsory in England and Wales.


The Energy Performance Certificate which will be a requirement (maybe not immediately) of the new Part L1 Building Regulations

Pressure Testing

Most new dwellings built to the requirements of Part L1A (Building Regulations April 2006), will require an air permeability test or “pressure test” before completion.

Energy Check is now offering an air permeability test service

The Service From Energy Check

Energy Check will provide pressure testing for dwellings or sites up to 100 miles from its base in Blaenavon, South Wales. The distance travelled has to be reflected in the cost.

Preparatory Work

Where TER/DER calculations have not been initially provided by Energy Check, The total dwelling envelope area (including party walls, party floors and party ‘roofs’) have to be provided by the client, plus the total envelope volume. Energy Check can provide this service from drawings if required (submitted prior to the test).

 

A visual inspection by Energy Check, prior to testing, can be provided if required. This would not normally be necessary if Accredited Construction Details have been followed.

Other Works

Upon a test failure, a detailed illustrated report can be provided if required.

Please ask for a quotation. Costings are usually based on a half day (max.2 dwellings) or full day cost (max.4 dwellings)
